Who we are
VALUES
Our congregation is fueled by a firm belief in the teachings of our Lord, and when we are together under the Holy Spirit of God — we become one. We welcome you to join our community and discover His power in your life. Don’t hesitate to contact us to find out more. We are always open to visitors and new worshipers who want to come and pray among us.
VISION
"Experiencing God's Powerful Word"...
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any
double-edge sword. It penetrates even dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the hearts. (Hebrews 4:12)

St. Mark Baptist Church History
On Sunday, March 19, 1944, this small group began worshiping as Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church, led by Reverend W.S. Woods (“ST MARK”). As the congregation grew by the blessing of GOD, the church was blessed to build a new sanctuary located at its current address, 908 Carpino Avenue, Pittsburg, California. The church congregation marched from the Columbia Park church location to the new church’s location on February 21, 1960. From that humble beginning, St. Mark has ministered effectively throughout the Civil Rights Revolution and well into the 21st century, serving as one of the “Mother Churches” within the city of Pittsburg. God touched the heart of men who answered the call to the ministry to serve as the Pastor of ST MARK over its 77+ years of history. God blessed us with Reverend A. Williams,Sr. as the current shepherd of the ST MARK congregation. Now we look to our 78th anniversary, to be celebrated during the summer of 2022. However, this vibrant church on the corner looks forward to continuing ministry well past our 78th year. We are a multi-generational church where from babies to senior ages worship with us, while the most senior are several young-at-heart, enthusiastic 90+ year old seniors. Singles, couples, both married and unmarried, families with children, “empty-nesters”, retirees and elders—we have some of each, with new people joining us all the time. Please come worship with us!
