St Mark Service Times

Sunday
Holy Communion
Holy Communion - Book of Common Prayer
This is a half hour service, using the traditional service of 1662.
Every Sunday at 8:00 AM for 40 minutes
The Parish Communion
This is our main act of worship for the whole community. There is a crèche and childrens groups. Afterwards there is a cup of tea or coffee and lunch is served at 12.15 pm for those who would like to stay.
On the First Sunday of the month the eucharist is an all age celebration, involving the children and young people in the liturgy. All baptised people are invited to receive communion, including children. The liturgy follows the pattern of Common Worship but incorporates worship material from Iona and many other sources.
Every Sunday at 10:00 AM for 1 hour
Night Prayer
The second main service of the day. This service is more informal, lasts about 45 minutes and always has a good period of silence! Often we use liturgies from Iona and Taize and on the first Sunday in the month share an informal communion. Tea and coffee are served afterwards.
Every Sunday at 8:00 PM for ¾ hour
Monday
Weekday Worship
Holy Communion is celebrated at 9.30 am on Monday, 7.45 am on Wednesday and Friday and at 10.30 am on Thursday.
Evening Prayer is said daily in the (Chapel) (not Saturday) at 5.00 pm.
The church is always open for prayer from early morning to 5.30 pm every day of the year.
There is the opportunity to browse the card stall, read magazines, write up prayer requests and light a candle if you wish by the Taize cross.
For much of the day there will be a person on welcome duty to answer any queries.

The power of Christian prayer Teach us to serve Thee
Teach us, good Lord, to serve Thee as Thou deservest: To give and not to count the cost; To fight and not to heed the wounds; To toil and not to seek for rest; To labour and not ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do Thy will.
