Who we are
We are a partner in the worldwide Anglican Communion and in the universal Church, we proclaim and celebrate the gospel of Jesus Christ in worship and action.
We value our heritage of biblical faith, reason, liturgy, tradition, bishops and synods, and the rich variety of our life in community.
We acknowledge that for thousands of years the Coast Salish, Nuu-chah-nulth and Kwakwaka'wakw peoples have walked gently on the unceded territories where we, the settler church now live, work, worship and play. We seek a new relationship with the First Peoples, one based in honour and respect, and we thank them for their hospitality.
We hope this website will be helpful to you and will tell you a little of our corner of God's Kingdom on Vancouver Island. We are an active and warm Anglican parish in which we seek to minister together and to reach out to those around us.
If you live in this area, we invite you to worship with us and to become part of our Christian community. If you are visiting Qualicum Beach, we invite you to be among the many visitors we welcome each year.
Either way, we want to provide a warm welcome as we share the Christian journey together and minister in the name of Jesus.

St. Mark's Anglican Church Q&A
Question: What is it like?
Answer: You will find St. Mark to be a very friendly and welcoming community. People of all ages and faiths are welcome to join us in worship. The Anglican service will either be from the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) or the Book of Alternative Services (BAS). Words to hymns and the readings are all printed in a very easy-to-follow bulletin. All those baptised are welcome at the communion table.Question: What about my kids?
Answer: Children of all ages are welcome in the worship services at St. Mark. Currently there is no Sunday School, but if you bring your children there are ways they can get involved and enjoy the service. We love the sound of children in the congregation. Messy Church is something we are excited about. It will take place the fourth Saturday at 4pm in the church hall. This involves a creative time to explore the month's biblical theme by getting messy!! Then a short celebration involving story, prayer, song, games and a sit-down meal together at tables.Question: Where do I park?
Answer: There are three separate parking lots on the church property, off Hoylake and off Memorial.Question: What do I wear?
Answer: Casual attire is permitted and you would be welcomed as long as you are wearing something acceptable anywhere else in public.Question: How can I get connected?
Answer: You can call the church office with questions, or simply come to a service. Greeters will be there when you enter the church, and they will give you a bulletin to follow and show you where to sit. After the service there is coffee time where the church community gathers in the hall to chat and get connected. We'd love to meet you.Â

Leader Bio:
The Venerable Elizabeth Northcott is the incumbent here at the Parish of St. Mark in Qualicum Beach. We give our blessing and support to her journey here in our parish and cherish the time she has spent with us. Elizabeth was officially appointed (collated) as the Archdeacon for the Nimpkish Region of the Diocese in October 2021 and now has a seat reserved for her at Christ Church Cathedral in Victoria.
Elizabeth’s education began in Fredericton New Brunswick with an undergraduate degree in Forestry Management (BScF) followed by a certificate in French from the Universite du Quebec a Trois Rivieres. These skills proved helpful in work as the Executive Director of the Nova Scotia Forestry Association.
From here, Elizabeth continued her theological training at McGill University and Montreal Diocesan Theological College, graduating in 1991 (MDiv) and then becoming the second woman to be ordained in the Diocese of Fredericton that same year. Elizabeth has served as Chaplain and teacher at Rothesay Collegiate/Netherwood School, Parish Priest at the Parish of East Saint John, Associate Priest at St Mary’s in Kerrisdale Vancouver and at All Saints in Ladner, BC. Presently she is the Rector of St. Mark's Anglican Church in Qualicum Beach.
Elizabeth and her spouse Susan own a house in Qualicum Beach and enjoy life with two grandchildren who live moments down the road in French Creek. Â

Grant us grace
0 Lord our God, grant us grace to desire Thee with our whole heart; that, so desiring, we may seek, and seeking find Thee; and so finding Thee may love Thee; and loving Thee, may hate those sins from which Thou hast redeemed us.
