St Nicholas Service Times
Sunday
Holy Communion
A quieter, more traditional service which usually follows the appropriate Common Worship liturgy. In Lent and Advent we may use the Book of Common Prayer for these services.
Every Sunday at 8:00 AM for ¾ hour
Family Communion
A typical Sunday morning family service will have modern lively worship, preaching to help people apply their faith to everyday life, opportunities for private and healing prayer and a family communion. Children and young people are especially welcome and there is a Children’s Church, except on the first Sunday of each month when most families go to St. Peter’s for their Café Church.
Every Sunday at 10:00 AM for 1½ hours
4 o'clock church
4 o'clock church is for anyone who wants to be part of an informal and relaxed Christian family, meeting to learn together, make friends and grow in faith. All ages are welcome.
You can expect a friendly welcome and a session containing songs, conversation, quizzes, videos, drama and prayer, followed by drinks and time to get to know people. Shared teas on the second Sunday of the month are opportunities to enjoy "finger food" while making new friends and catching up with "old" ones; there are plenty toys for the children to enjoy.
Every second and last Sunday at 4:00 PM for ¾ hour
Prayer and Praise
An informal time for meeting with God in prayer and worship.
Sometimes this makes for a very energetic bouncy service, sometimes it’s quieter and reflective but the emphasis is on finding time and space to meet with God. Although this is a monthly service we doesn't usually meet in August or December.
Occasionally moved to a different Sunday in the month so please check the parish website for up to date information.
Every first Sunday at 6:30 PM for 1 hour
Focus
Focus is a youth meeting for older teenagers, it's held in partnership with the Methodist church and the sessions run at Doxford Place Methodist Church.
This is a more in depth session looking at how to live out a life as a Christian in the 21st century, plenty of teaching and study but also time for questions, doubt and challenge. A great place to learn how to fit your faith into school, college or family life. Loads of peer support, help with relationships and school work.
Every Sunday at 7:00 PM for 2 hours
Monday
Little Fishes
Little Fishes is a pre school church that meets every Monday morning in church. Mums, dads, grandparents and carers are all welcome with their pre school children for a time of play, games, dressing up and fun followed by a time of age appropriate worship, teaching and prayer.
There's always an activity of some sort for the children, craft, baking or dressing up and we finish off with tea and toast !
Every Monday at 9:30 AM
Tuesday
Youth First
Youth First is a drop in session for young people from 12 to 18 years. There's drinks, toasties (and sometimes pizza) with games, films and plenty of time to chill out and chat. The evening finishes with a time of bible study, worship, prayer and discussion.
Every Tuesday at 7:00 PM for 2 hours
Wednesday

Empower me
Empower me to be a bold participant, rather than a timid saint in waiting; to exercise authority of honesty, rather than to defer to power or deceive to get it; to influence someone for justice, rather than impress anyone for gain; and by grace, to find treasures of joy, of friendship, of peace hidden in the fields you give me daily to plow.
