Anyone who is over 55 will be warmly welcomed to this very friendly new group which has been meeting every Friday in the Church Hall from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm for the last few months (new time 2-4pm)
Come and try a taster session for free and then we pay £2 and give a small donation towards refreshment. It may be possible for people who are unable to get without help to be collected (see contact details below).
We have had Kathryn from Age UK Rotherham to run the group and who has been very helpful in giving advice, before we go solo. We are able to loan equipment from her for free for a short while until we firmly establish ourselves, but if anyone has any games etc which they do not use any longer and may be enjoyed by our members we would be pleased to accept them.
We have varying activities, and indeed we try to do what our members request, it may be that you just want to come and chat, bring some knitting, sewing, drawing, or painting, do a quiz, or a craft project, have a discussion group, play board games, cards, dominos, draughts or join our very active scrabble group. Why not come and share a talent you have with others.
As we get older, most doctors will tell us the more active we keep our minds and bodies and the more social interaction we have, the healthier we will be, what better reason can you wish for joining us?

I ask you neither for health nor for sickness, for life nor for death; but that you may dispose of my health and my sickness, my life and my death, for your glory... You alone know what is expedient for me; you are the sovereign master, do with me according to your will. Give to me, or take away from me, only conform my will to yours. I know but one thing, Lord, that it is good to follow you, and bad to offend you. Apart from that, I know not what is good or bad in anything. I know not which is most profitable to me, health or sickness, wealth or poverty, nor anything else in the world. That discernment is beyond the power of men or angels, and is hidden among the secrets of your providence, which I adore, but do not seek to fathom.
