Who we are
Over the years, the Cathedral has been the site of many significant celebrations in the life of the local Church.
The Cathedral continues to serve as the scene for a wide range of celebrations and events. Groups holding conventions in Cincinnati often use the Cathedral for liturgies or concerts. One of the largest crowds to gather each year assembles to honor those who have been married 50 years or longer. At the liturgy and the following reception with the archbishop, the people of the archdiocese thank these people for their lives of service to each other and to the Church.
In contrast to all the large-scale celebrations, the Cathedral parish quietly ministers to the poor of the area and to the constant stream of people who come to participate in the sacraments. Confessions, baptisms, marriages and funerals - and, of course, the daily celebration of mass - continue the living story of the Cathedral.

The way, the truth, and the life
Lord Jesus, thou who art the way, the truth, and the life; hear us as we pray for the truth that shall make all free. Teach us that liberty is not only to be loved but also to be lived. Liberty is too precious a thing to be buried in books. It costs too much to be hoarded. Help us see that our liberty is not the right to do as we please, but the opportunity to please to do what is right.
