Leader Bio:
Pastor Jason has served at St. Philip since February 2014. Although he hails from the South, having graduated from Newberry College and Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, he started his ministerial journey in Wyomissing, PA, where he spent his first six years of ordained ministry.
Prior to attending seminary, Pastor Jason worked at Lutheridge - a Lutheran camp outside of Asheville, NC - for five summers as a counselor and Area Director.
In addition to his pastoral duties, Pastor Jason serves in the broader church community. He is an active member of the SC Synod's Vitality Team, a Board Member for NovusWay (parent body for Lutheridge and three other camps), and a former Dean of the Epiphany Conference. He has also served as Chaplain and Worship Leader at two different SC Synod Assemblies, both in-person and online.
Beyond his dedication to the church, Pastor Jason finds joy and relaxation in his family and hobbies. He has a passion for disc golf, and his appreciation for craft beer is not well-hidden.
With his diverse background, strong commitment to community and ministry, and well-rounded personality, Pastor Jason brings a unique and engaging perspective to our church community. He hopes to help St. Philip continue to move forward in mission, ministry, worship, and welcome.
We invite you to connect with Pastor Jason and be part of our shared mission at St. Philip.

Teach us to serve Thee
Teach us, good Lord, to serve Thee as Thou deservest: To give and not to count the cost; To fight and not to heed the wounds; To toil and not to seek for rest; To labour and not ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do Thy will.
