Who we are
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Stewartsville Baptist Church seeks to be used of God in developing faithful followers of Jesus Christ within our church, our community, and all nations.
OUR CORE VALUES
The Bible We are committed to the Bible as the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God and believe that it is to be the sole source of our Christian beliefs and the center of our preaching and teaching (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
The Lordship of Christ
We are committed to the conviction that Jesus Christ is the divine Son of God, who is the only way to heaven and eternal life (John 14:6), and that He is the head of the Church universal and our local fellowship of believers.
Godly Leadership
We are committed to the expectation that our members in positions of influence must exhibit godly, Christian character (1Timothy 3:3-13).
The Great Commission
We are committed to fulfilling Christ’s Great Commission to make disciples of all nations and believe it is to be the focus of all of our individual and corporate efforts
(Matthew 28:19-20).
Intentional Evangelism
We are committed to intentional evangelism as the foremost means of sharing the gospel with the unchurched in our community through taking the good news of Christ beyond our facilities and offering anyone an open invitation to receive Him during our church activities (Romans 10:14).
Sunday School
We are committed to our small group ministry of Sunday school as the primary means of educating believers of all ages in the Christian faith and assimilating them into our church fellowship (Matthew 28:19).
Biblical Giving
We are committed to biblical giving as an act of worship that supports the mission of our church and expect our members to give a minimum of ten percent of their income to further the kingdom of God. (2 Corinthians 9:6-9)
Youth and Children
We are committed to taking the necessary steps in order to reach youth and children with the gospel and to train them to become fruitful followers of Jesus Christ. (Proverbs 22:6)
Financial Responsibility
We are committed to being good stewards of the financial resources God has given to us through the support of our people (1 Corinthians 4:2).
World Missions
We are committed to taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations through our prayers for, financial giving to, and participation in international mission trips and, pray that God will call men and women from our church to serve as vocational Christian missionaries (Acts 1:8).
