Who we are
Welcome!
Who we are as a church stems from our core beliefs and what we see as our most important focus: Loving God and Loving People.
Our goal, our vision, is simply stated: Bring Relationships to Life.

What We Believe
We believe that God’s word is true, that the Bible is the revelation of His truth in written form. The Holy Spirit did so inspire, guide, and move the writers of the Scriptures as to keep them from error.
We believe that Christ was born of a virgin. Jesus was conceived in the womb of his mother Mary through the Holy Spirit without the agency of a human father.
We believe that Christ’s atonement is substitutionary. He paid a debt that we are incapable of paying. We can be reconciled to God only through Christ’s sacrificial suffering and death.
We believe that Christ’ resurrection was bodily. He rose on the third day in same body that he suffered.
We believe that the miracles of Christ are authentic and historical. Miraculous work is not contrary to His nature, but superior to ours.
We believe in the Trinity. There is one God, who exists as one in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, who, although are three different persons, are still one.
We believe that Christ’s return is imminent. Scripture emphasizes that Jesus can come at any moment. This fact helps to make us a people of hope, who are prepared and faithful.

Leader Bio:
I was born and raised in the small Texas town of Cameron. I became a member of a church in Cameron and even went without missing any Sundays for two years in a row but did not know Jesus as my Savior. It wasn’t until I returned from a church retreat as a freshman at Texas A&M that I gave my heart to Jesus. I am quite sure that I had heard the Gospel many times before but it was on a Saturday
afternoon (April 21, 1973) that I told Jesus I needed Him. He came into my life and changed my destiny forever. God has directed my life in wonderful ways since then. I met my wife, Karen, at the Baptist Student Center at Texas A&M. After graduation, I became a Campus Evangelism Coordinator for the Baptist Student Unions of Kilgore College and Panola Jr. College in East Texas. However, it wasn’t until I was teaching school in Tyler that God called me into the ministry. Two of my three daughters were born while I was in seminary. I completed my formal education with a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. After serving churches in Texas and Tennessee, God called me to Thalia Lynn. I began serving here on Easter Sunday 2005. Thalia Lynn has been an incredible blessing to me. I believe God is going to do something here that will only be attributed to Him.
My life verse is, “I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.” (Philippians 3:10)

The way, the truth, and the life
Lord Jesus, thou who art the way, the truth, and the life; hear us as we pray for the truth that shall make all free. Teach us that liberty is not only to be loved but also to be lived. Liberty is too precious a thing to be buried in books. It costs too much to be hoarded. Help us see that our liberty is not the right to do as we please, but the opportunity to please to do what is right.
