Who we are
The Garden at Gethsemane a United Methodist Church is a place to find love, peace, and support in the middle of a hectic world. We are all on a journey, come join us on The Journey.
The Garden has stood as a beacon for the Lord at the corner of Virginia Avenue and McGalliard Rd. in Muncie, Indiana since 1954. In 2012, a building program began to regenerate, expand, converge, and update the facilities that serve as the meeting place for worship, fellowship, prayer, and learning. In the summer of 2014, we completed the project with one unified church building.
The Garden at Gethsemane partnered with Main Street in the Spring of 2016. Both churches strive to be inwardly strong (Christ-centered) with an outward focus.

The Garden at Gethsemane History
Full of history, The Garden at Main Street United Methodist Church still sits on a parcel of land deeded by John Quincy Adams in 1827. Today, Main Street serves the East Central Muncie Neighborhood through community meals, worship and teaching.
In an effort to rebuild the church community, build relationships with neighbors and reach people for Christ, Main Street partnered with The Garden at Gethsemane in the Spring of 2016. Both churches strive to be inwardly strong (Christ-centered) with an outward focus.
