Unity is for everyone. Whether you are religious, atheist, agnostic, or spiritual but not religious, you are welcome here. Therefore, Unity is for people who recognize their own inner Truth. They seek to celebrate all paths towards a higher power.

Unity brings together ancient wisdom teachings and modern inspirational thought. We reframe what it is to find meaning and purpose in life. So, we invite different ways of thinking about love and intelligence. This is the driving force within the world.

Leader Bio:
My name is Lori Erwin-Johnson. I am honored and blessed to be chosen by the Unity of Tacoma family as the new minister and Spiritual leader. Let me introduce myself.
Family is Important
I was born and raised in Tacoma, WA. My parents moved to a small house there and I was in that home until I was an adult. After I left high school, I attended college until I began working. Later, I married my husband Rick and we had three children: Our daughter Kate, son Richard, and youngest son Nicholas. All are adults now and remain in the Puget Sound area. I currently live in Spanaway, WA with my husband and our orange tabby, Georgia
Going Back to School
After our kids were in school full time, went back to college. When I returned, I received a BA in Behavioral Science, later receiving my MS in Psychology. After completing my Masters, I continued to work towards a PhD in psychology where I focused on interfaith education as a catalyst for inter-religious acceptance.
Working Towards My Dream
While I was in graduate school, I began working as an administrator at a local Congregational church. I was ordained as a minister in the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches in 2016. Since then, I have designed and taught classes for other ministers at the university level and received a Doctor of Divinity. Currently, I am attending Unity Urban Ministerial School.
