Who we are
Vista La Mesa Christian Church is a congregation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). We have been in ministry on the west edge of La Mesa since 1948. We are a joyfully multi-generational congregation, where ALL are welcome. Our denominational identity statement sums it up pretty well:
We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. As part of the one body of Christ, we welcome all to the Lord’s Table as God has welcomed us.
Our mission:
To share the joy of God’s love To nurture one another to wholeness To motivate each other to Christian witness To effect healing in a hurting world
We strive to be a true church family, celebrating life’s triumphs together and providing comfort during life’s challenges. Find your welcome here at Vista La Mesa Christian Church!

Leader Bio:
Pastor Rebecca came to VLMCC in November of 2011, after serving a church in Alabama for ten years. She has a Masters of Divinity degree from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA, and was ordained September 1, 2001, by her home congregation, Eureka Christian Church in Eureka, Illinois. Her passions in ministry are helping people articulate, deepen and live out their faith; working to build God’s shalom, particularly through peace and anti-racism work; and enabling congregations to be communities of transformative love. She is currently serving as co-moderator of the Disciples Peace Fellowship Executive Committee and as vice-president of the Board of the United Christian Missionary Society. She is active with the La Mesa Interfaith Council, and particularly with their School Support Committee. Rebecca is married to Todd Lesh, and they have a yellow cat. She is a Zumba fanatic as well as an avid reader.

Worship Service 10:30 am on Sundays.

Worship at VLMCC is about connecting with a God who welcomes each of us as a beloved child. We hope you’ll come and join us soon!
We aim for a casual but reverent atmosphere, with a blend of music styles for all ages. The service includes sharing in prayer and singing, hearing scripture, and engaging with the message, which connects the scriptures with our lives.
Communion (the Lord’s Supper) is part of every worship service, and everyone is welcome to participate, as you are comfortable. Members of the congregation join our pastor in leadership of every service.
