Who we are
‘Westgate Christian Fellowship’, is a mixture of the old and the new. We are a small fellowship, evangelical in outlook and open to the leading of the Spirit in the worship meetings. Having our beginnings in the house-church/holiness movement in the late 60′s, we now meet in a fine Baptist chapel in the centre of Exeter.
Along with other believers in the city, we aim on Sundays to hear God’s Word through preaching, to express the truth and our devotion in song – traditional and modern – and to be strengthened to live for God and our neighbour in our daily lives. We endeavour to maintain the fellowship aspect of church life and believe we are a welcoming and friendly company. The Chapel is situated in Bartholomew Street West which is off the South end of Fore Street, Exeter. There are various car parks and parking spaces nearby, regular buses each way in Fore Street 125 metres away. The Original Building was built in 1817. It was used as a Baptist Chapel up to the early sixties when it was sold to a builders merchant and used as storage. The Fellowship purchased the building in 1977 and was completely refurbished and made suitable for use for a church. Nearly all the work was done by church members.

Westgate Christian Fellowship Service Times
As a community of Christians, we meet every Sunday morning at 10:30 to celebrate the Good News of Jesus Christ. The purpose of our gathering is to deepen our relationship with the Living God and encourage one another in our daily lives.
Lasting an hour and a half, we start our time together by singing a mixture of songs (old and new) as well as expressing our devotion to God openly through prayer, worship and praise. Later on, we hear a talk (roughly 30 minutes) from the Bible. Afterwards, we serve tea and coffee where people are welcome to stay and chat.
Children and teenagers are a vital part of our Church, so most weeks we have age related groups and activities for 4-16 years old.
Bible Explorers – 4-10
Wisdom Warriors – 11-16
We don’t want anyone to feel under pressure to participate during our Sunday mornings, so if you’d like to just come along and observe, we’d love to welcome you.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
It's been more than 5 years since the last service times update. Please make sure to contact the church to confirm service times.

Westgate Christian Fellowship History
Westgate began in the late 1960’s and sprang out of the House Church movement. We are a charismatic, evangelical, multi-national congregation across all ages. On a typical Sunday morning there are around 40 adults and children. We meet in the heart of Exeter, just a five minute walk from the city’s iconic Cathedral.

Teach us to serve Thee
Teach us, good Lord, to serve Thee more faithfully; to give and not to count the cost; to fight and not to heed the wounds; to toil and not to seek for rest; to labour and not to ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do Thy will, O Lord our God.
