Who we are
Word of Life was founded in 1977 in upstate South Carolina as a Church of God congregation with the sole purpose of helping people find love, purpose, and growth in Christ. The Lord breathed on that vision and today, our church is made up of people from many generations, cultures, and backgrounds who share a passion for Jesus and His kingdom.
Under the guidance of lead pastors John and Jeanie Smith, we are a family of Believers with a heart for authentic worship, are passionate about the local church, and are on mission to see God's love spread throughout our community. We love what God is doing at Word of Life and look forward to all that He has planned for the years to come.
OUR VISION
From the beginning, we've always envisioned Word of Life as a fun, growing, relevant place where the Word of faith is taught and the spirit of faith is caught. We are convinced that when people connect with God, understand the Bible, and get a real revelation of Jesus, the Word, and who they are in Christ, everything changes!
We exist to help people make the connection - that's why we offer a variety of ministries. In addition to weekly services, we host special events and small groups that offer personal growth and connection to a thriving body of believers.

LifeKids exists to lead children into a relationship with Jesus Christ, while embracing the fun and joy of childhood! Engaging experiences include exciting music and relevant Biblical stories in a safe environment. At LifeKids, we encourage children to use their gifts and talents for Christ and for others. We often say 'Know, Show, Grow!' - know God's love for you, show God's love to others, and grow in God's love.
Wednesdays 7:15 – 8:30pm
1st–6th grade students are welcome to The Garage - a fun space for mentoring, training, and equipping kids to become devoted followers of Jesus. Â

Abide in my heart
Come, Lord Jesus, and abide in my heart. How grateful I am to realize that the answer to my prayer does not depend on me at all. As I quietly abide in You and let Your life flow into me, what freedom it is to know that the Father does not see my threadbare patience or insufficient trust, rather only Your patience, Lord, and Your confidence that the Father has everything in hand. In Your faith I thank You right now for a more glorious answer to my prayer than I can imagine. Amen.
