Who we are
BMC was established in 1854 by circuit rider, Reverend Daniel Rawls, on the banks of the Blanco River. We are a warm and caring congregation, reaching out to all in the community. Come and experience the joy, love, fellowship and peace of Jesus Christ. There is a place for you here.
At BMC we are all about loving God and loving others. Being the church is a part of our DNA; we accept and embrace you just as you are. We are all united by our common faith in our Savior Jesus Christ. We believe that a daily part of our expression of worship is that we live out our faith together in community. Simply put, we are called into relationship with God and into relationship with our fellow believers. You are not alone, you were meant to walk out your faith journey with the support and friendship of your spiritual family.
As we endeavor to make room for God in our lives by putting Him first in all that we say and do, He draws us closer into relationship with Him and into unity with His family. This is how we fulfill our purpose and impact the world around us. “The world will know that you are mine by your love for one another” John 13:35. It is our hope that you will find that we are the spiritual community that you can count on to embrace and support you as together we grow in God’s love. May you find that when you are here, you are home!

Blanco United Methodist Church History
Blanco Methodist Church was organized with six charter members in 1854 and was served by a Methodist circuit rider, Daniel Rawls. Services were initially held in a log cabin, including members of other denominations. In 1871, this group erected a building for their worship services and called it the Union Church.
In 1882, the Methodists decided to erect their own building and on October 3, 1883, a quarterly conference was held to dedicate that church, the original portion of our present church building. Numerous additions and remodeling projects have occurred throughout the years to meet the needs of the congregation. In 1967, BMC received a historical medallion, which gives recognition and remembrance to all its past generations.
