Yes, we have great music and awesome preaching. But we always make space for the Holy Spirit to work. When you visit Burien First, you can expect to be greeted at the door with a smile and welcomed like you were family. We have fresh coffee ready for you, and we will never judge you based on what you wear.
Kids
We love letting the whole family worship together! Kids stay in the service during the music and prayer time – we have twirling ribbons for kids who love to dance. After that, kids are dismissed to go downstairs for crafts, snacks, and engaging Bible lessons with our awesome teachers!
Main Service
Our music is a blend of traditional and contemporary. We love the lyrics of the oldies, mixed with the music of today!
We have passionate prayer times and make space for Holy Spirit to do his thing. We love our members to use their spiritual gifts so the whole church can be encouraged.
The preaching is powerful and relatable. You’ll have fun, learn a lot, and leave feeling uplifted!

Richie grew up the son of a carpenter learning how to work with his and build alongside of his father. He is a fourth generation pentecostal who is overjoyed about Jesus. Richie felt called to be a pastor when he was in 5th grade and has been faithfully following that calling since then. He has served by leading worship, youth pastoring, directing small groups, and church planting. He became the associate pastor at Burien First in 2016, serving under Pastor Lynn White. In 2017, Pastor White passed the baton to Richie and retired after 32 years of ministry in Burien.
Richie met his wife, Hannah, at a church retreat while they were in college. After breaking his heart multiple times during college and after, she finally agreed to marry him. They sealed the deal on 1-1-11. In his free time, Richie has epic lightsaber battles with his 3 year old son, Silas. He and Hannah also have a 6 month old son, Sage.
