Who we are
Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle Campground is a humble campground in the woods 1 1/2 miles outside Ashland, Virginia on Elmont Road. Founded in 1955 by Rev. and Mrs. Wallace H. Heflin, Sr., it is a place where people hungry for God can gather in the summer and at conferences throughout the year to be spiritually blessed.
Our campus is a lovely 14 acres in the central Virginia area. We have many amenities to enjoy during your time here. There are several picnic areas for family time or Bible study. For the children we have a playground with slides, swings, an open play area, sandbox and larger open fields. For the big kids, or kids at heart, we have horseshoe pits and a half-size basketball court.

Leader Bio:
Jane Lowder is the Pastor and Director of Calvary Campground in Ashland, Virginia. An international revivalist, an apostolic leader to this present day’s generations and an author. Her book, “High and Lifted Up” is helping many step into their calling and is required reading in two Bible Institutions.
She has been in ministry for more than 30 years, starting as a missionary who has traveled extensively to more than 70 nations. From trekking the mountains of the Himalayas, crossing the rice terraces of Southeast Asia, traveling to the hidden peoples of China, into the outback of Australia, throughout Europe and from the countries of South America to the Arctic North she has preached the Gospel to the multitudes and released the ministry of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Jane is recognized by her colleagues as a true vessel of humility, with accurate prophetic insight and a servant’s heart. The founders of Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle Ministries (the Heflin Family) admired her for her faithfulness and holiness in reflecting the nature of Christ so she was entrusted the directorship of the ministry they pioneered just before the last family member went to be with the Lord.
Since becoming the Director, her leadership has overseen the renovation of most of the buildings on the Camp, the installation of a water treatment plant and updating of all the departments and ministry outlets of the Campground.
Her passion for God, compassion for His people, love for the Heflin family and the ministry she is entrusted are clearly expressed in the preserving and upgrading of the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle Ministries, so that present and future generations can be touched and changed in the glory that has been here from its beginnings…
Jane Lowder holds a doctorate of ministry from Cornerstone Graduate School.

Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle Campground History
Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle opened Easter Sunday, March 28, 1937 on Grayland Avenue, Richmond, VA. With a heart full of faith, a burden for souls and many miracles taking place, Rev. Wallace Heflin, Sr. and his wife Rev. Edith Ward Heflin, would move from Washington, DC to plant their first church and ministry base in Richmond. Throughout its history, the church would relocate to various locations to accommodate growth and plant satellite campuses in Ashland, Bristersburg, Callao, Falmouth, Weems and West Point, Virginia as well as outreaches in other Nations of the world.
In 1946, Rev. Wallace Heflin, Sr. would start Open Air Meetings in Monroe Park during the months of June, July, August and September. This was a time of many salvations and miracles of physical healings taking place. On May 14, 1948 when Israel became a nation, God began to send great revival, a very deep move of the Spirit, all over the United States and the world; the Latter Rain Movement. In this move, the ministry began to flow even more deeply with the Spirit and to see growth. In 1949, they purchased a building at 1105 Hull Street and for five years would be in Revival services three hundred and sixty five days each year. Each night, the sanctuary was full with many being saved, baptized in the Holy Spirit and receiving miracles of all sorts. During this time, the property in Ashland, VA was donated and began to be developed into a campground to facilitate the work God was doing. The Ashland property was dedicated on June 15,1951.
In 1952-1954, the church would rent the large McArthur Theater. Finding a building for sale on Morris Street they would relocate and remain there for eleven years. On August 22, 1966, they would move to 2701 Hull Street and remain there until 2004 when it was moved to the Campground in Ashland, VA.
Today, Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle meets on their campground in Ashland, VA. The 103 acre campus contains auditoriums, kitchens and dining facilities, administration offices and lodgings.
