Who we are
Cedar Cross United Methodist Church is a Progressive Christian Community that believes faith is a journey in relationship to God through Jesus Christ that we all take together. Our mission is to create a community that nurtures and empowers people to be disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Cedar Cross is an active church that tries to live our United Methodist theme of Open Hearts, Open Minds and Open Doors.
We have a diverse membership of adults, seniors, youth, and children of all ages! We have a strong Sunday school curriculum for children, youth and adults. Our worship services offer many ways to help you deepen your spiritual awareness of God’s work in us, in our community and in the world. We are pleased that you are interested in CCUMC.
We hope you will consider worshipping God and serving others with us. If there is any way we can be of service to you or your family in your faith journey, please let us know. There is a place for you here at Cedar Cross United Methodist Church. We look forward to meeting you.

Children’s Programs
Virtual Sunday School: 9:30am every Sunday
Please email Katie Rugg katie.rugg@cedarcross.net for more information or instructions to join.
Cedar Cross’ Children’s Program is well rounded and filled with fun activities and programs where children receive a firm foundation of faith as they grow and learn in God’s love. Sunday School is offered from age 3 – high school during the Sunday School Hour at 10:00 am. There are Bible stories, music, fun crafts and games. It is our tradition that all 3rd graders receive their own Bible signed by Pastor Jim Clarke.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a fun filled week that is offered in the summer. VBS is an exciting week that is filled with crafts, recreation, music, experiments and most importantly bringing God’s love and teachings alive to the children who attend.
Children’s Christmas Musical
Our Children’s Christmas Musical always gets us into the spirit of the Christmas season. Preschoolers through high school students come together to put on an amazing show. And every year they out do themselves and put on the best Christmas program ever!
Covid has changed our programs, but we look forward to reinstating our community outreach, and fun events to involve all ages in fellowship. Some of our more popular activities have been Family Game Night, Movie Night, Everett Aqua Sox Ball games, campfires and picnics.

Youth Group
Every Sunday the youth of Cedar Cross United Methodist Church (grades 6-12) meet at the church to play games, grow in their faith, and be in fellowship with one another in a safe environment for all. We invite all youth, wherever they may be in their faith journey, to join us for a fun and fulfilling time.
Bible Study
The youth have a dedicated bible study between services. During this 45 minute time, the youth are presented with a topic, devotion, bible verse, bible study or current event and asked to discuss it, and how it is relevant in their lives and in the context of the Christian faith.
Retreats
The youth of Cedar Cross participate in 3 retreats a year. Cedar Cross offers scholarships to assist in the cost of these events; they are as follows:
SUMYT: This event is held in march at the Indianola camp in Indianola, WA. This event has a different theme every year and features speakers, small group, and local church time.
Fall Retreat: This event is traditionally held at Camp Indianola in November. This retreat is open to grades 6-12 and also features speakers, small group, large group and local church activities.
Youth Convocation (CONVO): CONVO is the largest Methodist retreat in the Pacific Northwest. Youth from all over the PNW go to the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma Washington over Memorial Day weekend for several days of inspiring talks, activities and fellowship.
Summer Mission Project
The youth of Cedar Cross United Methodist Church do an annual summer mission project (usually in late August). This event changes annually, but is usually located in Washington state. In the past we have gone to Toppenish, Moses Lake, or Nooksack. The youth have done everything from teaching Bible School, to work projects, to school supply drives.
