We are a Christ-centered church, in the Reformed tradition that is convicted by our consciences, through the leading of the Holy Spirit, to place our faith in Christ alone. By God’s grace we desire to become a church continually made new by Jesus Christ, enthusiastic about the gospel, and serving our city and beyond.
Our commitments to God-glorifying worship; biblical, Christ-centered preaching; genuine community; intentional discipleship and education; and relational missions are summarized below.
We are a congregation in the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA) and are convicted by our consciences, through the leading of the Holy Spirit, to believe in the Christian faith as summarized in the following ecumenical creeds:

Athanasian Creed
In addition, Central Avenue CRC and its members agree with the following Reformed confessions, organizing and faithfully summarizing the teaching of God's Word, the Bible:

Pastor Chad was called as pastor of Central Avenue after graduating from Calvin Theological Seminary and being ordained on September 19, 2004. He had previously served as Intern Pastor here since late 2002. Pastor Chad is currently working on his Doctor of Ministry, in preaching and teaching, at Knox Theological Seminary. Central Avenue is Pastor Chad's first charge.
Pastor Chad typically maintains office hours on and off, Monday afternoon through Friday. Saturday is his regular day-off. Please contact the church office or make an appointment to be sure he is available.
Pastor Chad and his wife Rachel have three children. Their family enjoys camping, sports, reading and time with friends and family.
