Children’s Ministries
Welcome to S.P.A.R.K. Kid’s, the kids ministry of Cheraw Church of God. I would personally like to thank you for viewing our Kids Ministry. We are very excited, to have our own Kid’s Sanctuary, which is absolutely beautiful. Bright, kid friendly, and very up to date with both audio/visual capabilities. Our ministry and leadership team are passionate about kids and expect to see them grow into confident, capable, and reliable Christian young men and women.
It is our vision to see that every child that enters our doors has a personal experience with the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ.
Kids are introduced to Christ through puppetry, characters, skits and dramas, praise and worship, but most importantly the Word of God. It is our sincere hope that every child is excited to go to Kids Church and ready for their next encounter with Jesus.
Please feel free to contact us at any time with questions, comments, or concerns. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Student Ministries
Victory Over Life’s Temptations is our weekly youth gathering at the Cheraw Church of God. Our goal is to provide a place for our students (6th – 12th grade) to connect with Jesus, with friends, other students, and with older leaders that are dedicated to helping teenagers build a relationship with Jesus that is strong, productive, & effective.
It is our desire to welcome and reach “all” youth, regardless of background. We desire a safe haven for youth to come share their hopes, desires, dreams; while at the same time learn how to be more like Jesus.
Come join us every Wednesday at 7pm for a night of fun, fellowship, worship, and the Word of God. Please feel free to contact us anytime with questions, comments, or concerns. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Cheraw Church of God History
Our History...
The Cheraw Church of God was founded in 1934. Services were held in a tabernacle on Legrand Street with Rev. Berdine Hatcher serving as pastor.
In 1945 the church was then moved to a tent on 111 A. C. L. Avenue with Rev. C. H. Hall serving as pastor. During a revival with Rev. R. V. Dillingham, the tent was burned and everything was destroyed except for the ropes which held the tent. Determined not to be defeated by this event, the people cleared the grounds of the debris and continued to have service under the stars.
After the loss of the tent, a Brush Arbor was constructed in order to house the worship services. This arbor was used until God opened a door for a new sanctuary to be constructed. With the help of the faithful members, the guidance of Pastor Rev. C. H. Hall and with the continual blessings of God, the Cheraw Church of God was able to complete their new sanctuary before the end of 1945.
After completing the new sanctuary, the members began working towards building a parsonage that would be located behind the new church. The construction of this new parsonage would fall between the years of 1946-1947. God continued blessing this united congregation and in 1959, under the direction of Pastor Rev. Howard Hanley, the sanctuary located on A. C. L. Avenue would be remodeled.
In 1969, under the direction of Pastor Rev. Gerald Redman, the members of the Church agreed to purchase property located on highway 52 north. In 1974, just four years after Rev. R. P. Grice became the Pastor, the church constructed new facilities (Sanctuary and Parsonage) on the property that they had procured just five years earlier.
Today the Cheraw Church of God is still located on highway 52 north and it has undergone many expansions. Under the direction of Pastor Rev. Aaron Russell Miles, the members of the church added onto the sanctuary in order to expand its seating capacity. Since then God has continued to bless this church due to the prayers and faithfulness of both its members and pastors.
