Leaders
When thinking about how CGCC is organised it may be helpful to think of ripples in a pond...
Paul and Lis Gutteridge head up the Church alongside a team of Key Leaders - Paul and Liz Jevons, Pete and Nicki Sims, Mike Collins, Nigel and Nicky Langford and Emma Alleway and a team of around forty Wider Ministry Leaders.
CGC history
CGC can trace its roots back to 1926 when Rose Whybrow, a local lady, received a vision to start a centre to reach out to local children. Land was purchased and a small facility built. From those early days the work progressed and evolved into a church called Bethel Chapel. In April 1996 Rick and Bev Murrill left Australia and arrived in England to lead the church and in October the name was changed to Christian Growth Centre (CGC Chelmsford). Since then the church has grown steadily, moved venues and has planted several churches around the UK and abroad under the banner of Christian Growth International. In September 2006 pastoral responsibility of the CGC was handed on to Paul and Lis Gutteridge.

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

A little spiel about the annual Fun Day?
Praise for Community Projects... (?)
“I strongly applaud CGC for their outreach work, which develops programmes for the local community and benefits families of all backgrounds. The funday at Savernake Park was a thoroughly enjoyable experience which brought families from the Westlands estate together.
CGC are the living example of pro-active, community faith based church who are going out in to their local community to help the less well off and the distressed, and our upholding the finest traditions of the Christian faith.”
Simon Burns MP Chelmsford
