Who we are

Welcome to Corpus Christi Catholic Church. As the pastor of our wonderful parish, I extend my warmest greetings to you.

In a time where the world often drifts away from the timeless truths of our Catholic tradition, our parish stands as a beacon of hope and steadfastness. We are rooted in the unchanging teachings of Jesus Christ, and we find solace in the source and summit of our faith. Our parish community is bound together by our adherence to traditional liturgical practices and our shared commitment to living out the teachings of Holy Mother Church in our daily lives. We strive to foster holiness and virtue in ourselves and our families.

Corpus Christi celebrates the beauty and sanctity of the Latin Mass, preserving the sacred language and solemn rituals that have nourished the souls of countless generations. In this ancient liturgy, we encounter the divine mystery, uniting ourselves with the countless saints and martyrs who have gone before us.

Our parish community is more than just a place of worship; it is a spiritual family. Corpus Christi Catholic Academy is rooted in an intellectual tradition that provides students with a classical, holistic education. We nurture their intellectual, moral, and spiritual development, continuing the cultivation of the grace necessary for our students’ spiritual journey and growth in holiness.

As your pastor, I am here to guide and shepherd you, to provide spiritual counsel, and to walk alongside you in your journey of faith. Do not hesitate to reach out to me or to our dedicated parish staff whenever you are in need, whether it is for guidance, prayer, or support. I also invite you to actively participate in the various ministries and devotions offered within our parish. Our parish life is enriched by the vibrant participation of our parishioners, who generously offer their time and talents to serve others and build up the Body of Christ. Together, let us deepen our faith and shine the light of Christ to the world around us.

May the Holy Spirit continue to guide and bless our parish community abundantly. Let us remain steadfast in our commitment to the traditional Catholic faith, drawing strength from our rich heritage. In unity and love, let us strive to bring the light of Christ to all those we encounter.

In Christ's service,

Fr. Brian Roesler
Pastor

Corpus Christi Catholic Church History

Corpus Christi Parish was founded in 1916 from St. Mary’s Parish and the missions in Palmer Lake, the Modern Woodman of America Sanitarium, and the north end of Colorado Springs. Corpus Christi – the second parish to be established in the Diocese of Colorado Springs – served the area’s English, Italian, Spanish, and Slavic Catholics.

Parishioners purchased and moved a Baptist church to the site of the present church. The first Mass was celebrated in the new church in 1917. The cornerstone for the current church was laid in 1955.

The parish opened a school in 1921. It attained full accreditation by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The school provides a quality Catholic educations for students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.

The parish has been served by the following Pastors:

Fr. Felix Abel 1916 – 1941
Fr. Anthony Eliz 1941 – 1972
Fr. Robert Kekeisen 1972 – 1985
Fr. Gerald Bruggeman 1985 – 1994
Fr. Bill Carmody 1994 – 2000
Fr. Steve Parlet 2000 – 2007
Fr. Mark Zacker 2007 – 2019
Fr. Brian Roeseler 2019 – present
