Who we are
WHO WE ARE
Okay, so right off the bat we need to give you a disclaimer: it's really hard to describe who we are as a church family in words and pictures on a Web site. Really, the only way to understand who we are is to experience Crossroads first-hand: to participate in the joy and reverence of our worship...to serve someone in need shoulder-to-shoulder with other brothers and sisters in Christ...to hear biblical truth from a message series...to laugh and cry and grow with your Community Group...to name a few. Our first service was held on March 10, 1996 as 50 people met in the clubhouse at the Oakhurst subdivision in Aurora. For 14 years, beginning in 1999, we met in the Neuqua Valley High School auditorium in Naperville for two Sunday services, where attendance grew to roughly 1,400 people each Sunday. Today, we are in our permanent HOME. Read on...
In 2003 God moved in, quite literally, miraculous ways to make it possible for us to acquire 130 acres of land (the Smith farmstead) at Wolf's Crossing and Eola Road in Aurora. This land was extremely valuable in our high-growth Fox Valley and we could not have purshased it without God's supernatural grace. In 2008 and 2009 we completed major earthwork (grading and ponds); added a parking area for outdoor events; renovated the farm homes and moved all of our church office functions to the property; and added new spaces for Bible studies and meetings, child care, and band rehearsals. In 2010 we completed significant landscaping, adding a beautiful stone baptismal pool and wedding garden. In the spring of 2012 Crossroads broke ground for our first Church Worship Center that opened in the summer of 2013.
The completed construction of our new 21,000 sq ft worship center at 3003 South Eola in Aurora held its first services on June 2, 2013.
