The Rev. William (Bill) Utke was unanimously elected to serve as DGUCC’s sixth settled Pastor in April, 2021. He began his ministry at Desert Garden UCC in September of 2021. Pastor Bill and his wife, the Rev. Ann Utke, moved here from Wisconsin.
Pastor Bill has a commitment to life-long spiritual growth and practice—individually, and in community. He believes that our faith covenant commits us to being people who listen to diverse viewpoints and seek to build community through them. He affirms that all we do should grow from the heart of the Still-Speaking God: “Clarity comes from the words and deeds of Jesus. All that we do as a church is to be founded in God’s word written and alive through the Holy Spirit.” Pastor Bill comes to us from Emanuel Church UCC in Hales Corners, WI where he served from 2007 to 2021.
He loves to meet new people, and looks forward to meeting you and welcoming you to Desert Garden UCC!

Travel/Directions Tips
Heading west on Bell Road from Sun City, turn right onto R.H. Johnson Blvd. Turn right at the second stoplight (128th Avenue.) Desert Garden is four blocks north on 128th Avenue and is on the left side of the road. There are two entrances located at both sides of the church campus.
Heading east on Bell Road from Surprise, turn left onto R. H. Johnson Blvd. and follow the directions above.

We have a huge parking lot, and several spots reserved for visitors next to the Sanctuary entrance.
