Who we are
What is the church community like?
Emmanuel is a friendly, engaging community of people that quickly makes everyone feel accepted and loved! We come from many different backgrounds and range from families with young children, to college-aged singles and young professionals, to "empty-nesters," all the way up to our senior adults. Though our backgrounds may be diverse, we are growing together in love for God and others!

What are our Sunday mornings like?
Christian living & education (Sunday School) classes are offered from 9:30 – 10:20 am. Refreshments for all are available from 10:20 – 10:45. Our Praise Team (guitars, drums, keyboard, etc.) opens the 10:45 am service with a mix of contemporary music and hymns. Piano, video-assisted worship, and even our historic organ are occasionally mixed in as well! In-depth Bible teaching is offered that frequently begins with the historical context of the Bible passages, then moves toward the meaning and daily application of the messages to our lives. Our hope in everything we do is to help you experience the love of God and to encourage you in your spiritual journey.
Our Sunday service normally runs 60-75 minutes. Since we begin at 10:45 am, you can expect to be done by approximately 12:00 pm
SUMMER SCHEDULE: Our Sunday mornings are modified over the summer (July & August) by offering a single, 10 am service. (Christian Education classes are suspended.)

Pastor Rick came to Emmanuel in July 2014 after 31 years as an engineer and software developer in a high-tech telecommunications company. His love for God is real! It’s contagious! And his Bible teaching is both refreshing and easy to grasp. Pastor Rick & his wife Joan are long-time residents of the Lehigh Valley. Raised as Catholics, their relationships with God were transformed during Rick’s time in the US Air Force. It is his joy to help others experience the love of God and fullness of life in Jesus Christ that God has made available to all. Pastor Rick and Joan have been married for 44 years. They have 3 adult daughters and 8 grandchildren!

Dress code:
Is there a dress code? - Let’s skip the rules! Emmanuel wants you to grow closer to God and to others so how you dress is not a factor in that. We do not have a specific dress code. Be comfortable but respectful. On any Sunday, you will see men wearing anything from jeans and an open-collar shirt to dress slacks and a tie. Women as well might wear anything from jeans to slacks, or even a dress. The choice of fashion is yours. Out of courtesy for others, we would simply request your dress be modest with no writing or images that may be considered offensive.
