Who we are
Exeter Vineyard Church is a Christian church in the city of Exeter in Southwest England. We hold all the same core beliefs as other churches, but our style is very relaxed and informal – this is just the way we enjoy expressing our faith.
Purpose
We believe God has called us to be a church for a purpose:
Our purpose, in four words, is to: Connect, Grow, Equip and Impact
We want to create environments, opportunities and encouragements to help people connect with God in a vibrant and passionate relationship.
We want to help people to grow towards the person God created them to be.
We want to equip people to use their individual gifts, talents and passions in service of other people and God’s kingdom.
And we want to impact people and situations in Exeter and beyond with God’s transforming love, hope and peace.
Values
To help you get a sense of what’s important to us, these are the things we value:
We highly value people. We are all unique, made in God’s image, with amazing potential and we can all learn from each other. So we’re not into titles or hierarchy.
It also means we accept all people – we don’t think church should be a club for people like us, but a diverse and colourful community of people. So we don’t judge by appearances and welcome people to come as they are.
We really value being real. We want our lives to be authentic so we’re not into pretending we’re fine when we’re not, or wearing masks to try to maintain our reputations.
We’re not into hype or manipulation – we want people to be able to travel at their own speed and take personal responsibility for their lives and their faith journey. We love questions, we’re not threatened by doubt or struggle – we all hit those times – and people who are curious or confused about God are always very welcome.
We also value involvement. We know God uses everyone, so we want to see all people involved in God’s work, not just the privileged few!
And finally, of course, we value God! We believe he is with us, on our side and involved in our day-to-day lives. We want to take him seriously and we treat the Bible with respect and thoughtfulness.

Exeter Vineyard Church Exeter Service Times
The Sunday service is our family gathering. We meet to encourage one another to remember that God loves us and is leading us!
We meet at 10:30am at St Leonard’s Primary School. We’re finished by midday.
After the service there are refreshments – tea, fresh coffee, doughnuts and fruit – and people often hang out for a while to chat.
On a normal Sunday service we sing contemporary style songs to focus on God and express ourselves to him. Often we might hear some simple stories about how God is working in people’s lives and then someone will share something helpful, practical and encouraging from the Bible.
