Ventura Faith Calvary Chapel has been formed as a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Our supreme desire is to know Christ and to be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such, only their over-emphasis of the doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ.

We believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is His (Agape) love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.

WE BELIEVE WORSHIP OF GOD SHOULD BE SPIRITUAL.
Therefore, we remain flexible and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.

WE BELIEVE WORSHIP OF GOD SHOULD BE INSPIRATIONAL.
Therefore, we give a great place to music in our worship.

WE BELIEVE WORSHIP OF GOD SHOULD BE INTELLIGENT.
Therefore, our services are designed with great emphasis upon teaching the Word of God that He might instruct us how He should be worshipped.

WE BELIEVE WORSHIP OF GOD IS FRUITFUL.
Therefore, we look for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have truly been worshipping

Pastor Doug was called into serving the Lord Jesus Christ later in his life. While having a successful career in Ventura in the insurance industry, Doug began leaning into the calling from God to become a Pastor/Teacher. It was an earlier event that changed Doug’s life when he prayed, “God, if you are real, show yourself to me”.. And the Lord did exactly that by working through the healing of Debbie, his wife in 1992. It was then that Doug committed his life to the

Lord Jesus Christ

Years later, Doug graduated from the School of Ministry at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. While he was going to school, someone from Ventura asked if he would lead a Bible Study in Ventura. It was then In 2005, Ventura Faith (a venture of faith) Fellowship was planted. Doug is fulfilling his calling as a pastor dedicated to teaching and preaching the Word of God as it says in Ephesians 4:11-12”… for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”. His goal is to make sure Faith Calvary, by the power of the Holy Spirit is “the best loved, best fed by Word of God, and best cared for church that it can be”.

Women’s Ministry – Precious sisters, In these adventurous times, it is important to our spiritual health to stay in the Word and in contact with each other for encouragement and spiritual growth. So, you are invited to meet together Monday night from 7:00 pm-8:00 pm via Zoom for a time of fellowship and prayer. If you are interested in trying out this new form of fellowship, please e mail us or use the contact us button and we will send you the link for the meeting. FCC started out as a Bible Study group out of Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara. Pastor Doug was asked to start a Bible Study in Ventura at that time for those that had been attending CC Santa Barbara. A few years later in April 2005, the church was prayed over and sent out by Pastor Ricky Ryan for the church to begin Sunday services. The first service was held at Juanamaria Elementary School in east Ventura.The Lord provided miraculously and grew the church according to His will through the teaching of the Word of God and the effective work of the Holy Spirit. After diligent prayer over a church facility building, the Lord provided the first church building in February 2014 at the current location.
