Located in the peaceful village of Newfane, First Baptist Church offers congregants a place of comfort, hope, and a peace of mind for all their worshipping needs. We are dedicated to spreading the teachings of Jesus Christ, and our goal is to inspire you through the holiness of our dwelling and our services. We invite you to become a part of our congregation, and look forward to meeting you!
At First Baptist Church we welcome all persons into our midst, without regard to race, age, gender, sexual orientation of physical and mental abilities.
We are a diverse group, with some being more conservative and others being more progressive, both politically and theologically. A certain percentage of the church was "born Baptist," but that may be a surprisingly small number.
For example, the pastor's background is diverse, having been educated at both conservative Pentecostal Bible schools as well as a Mennonite college and seminary, and finally receiving his M.Div. from a progressive Baptist seminary.
So, don't let the title, "Baptist" keep you away. Come add to the assortment!

Tim Schultz became pastor of First Baptist Newfane on June 1, 2015. After years of serving other churches out of state he returned home to western NY and to Niagara County, where he lived during high school and graduated from Royalton-Hartland High School in Middleport, NY.
Tim’s initial call to ministry was to the city. Following training in Queens, NYC he spent several years serving ministries in Buffalo and worked at a mission in Atlantic City. He loves the city but loves the rural areas too!
He previously served Mennonite churches in New Jersey and Ohio, and a Church of the Brethren congregation in Pennsylvania. Like ministry places, educational experiences have also been quite varied in Tim’s life. From Bible schools, to community and state colleges, he then graduated from Eastern Mennonite University and Colgate Divinity School, where he received his M.Div.
Tim enjoys the simple things of life, such as going out for coffee and meals, taking walks in cities and country parks, and hanging out in libraries and bookstores. Over the years he has written for various Christian publications.He would enjoy meeting with you over coffee or at the church, where he often is during the day on Wednesday. Living about five minutes from church, it is convenient for him to meet with you whenever you like.
