The zONE
The Youth Ministry of First Baptist Church has a goal of teaching students the Bible so that they can learn and apply these truths to their everyday lives. We also seek to help students grow in their areas of giftedness as they mature spiritually and physically. To accomplish these goals, we explore all areas of life as we study the scriptures. Our focus is on helping students face and overcome the challenges of life by learning to follow Jesus’ example.
During the week, we have opportunities for students to engage in several activities. On Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m., we meet together for an hour of Bible Study. The teachers are prepared and ready to help students better understand the relationship of the Bible to everyday life. Students and teacher discuss the lessons, share their experiences, and explore how the Bible gives direction for daily circumstances. Following Bible Study, the youth meet with the rest of the church for fellowship and then worship.
The zONE gathers on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. We usually have a worship time, fellowship, and games. A time of devotion and study follows. When you join us on Wednesday evening, you will learn from scriptures about one of the Seven Checkpoints: Authentic Faith, Spiritual Disciplines, Moral Boundaries, Healthy Friendships, Wise Choices, Ultimate Authority, and Others First.
