Who we are
OUR MISSION
To share the good news that Jesus is truly God, but that He has also become fully human, and has done everything necessary to rescue this dying world.
OUR OBJECTIVES
To maintain a Sunday School to teach our children
To conduct worship services and Bible classes for adults
To conduct services in nursing homes
To visit our members in hospitals, in nursing homes, or in their own homes
To welcome churched and unchurched into our fellowship
To provide service organizations (presently our Ladies Aid)
To support the proclamation of the good news through the WELS
To do anything else we can to share Jesus with those who don't know Him
And to help those who do know Him to trust Him more fully
And to serve Him more faithfully.

Friedens Lutheran Church History
The first church was built in 1878 and located just south of Slab City Road between the old and new Highway 47.
The second church was built in 1904. It was built by Bill Toll and his brother's carpenter crew.
In June of 1922, the church was repaired and remodeled due to lightning striking the Friedens church. The lightning created extensive damage to the steeple and tower. It did not catch fire. Windows were broken in the church, parsonage, nearby homes, and local cheese factory.
After the church was struck by lightning, the tower was rebuilt but the steeple was not as it seemed to draw lightning. Electricity and lights were added. New art glass windows were installed to replace those blown out.
In 1947, the church was remodeled and completely redecorated. A new Wurlitzer organ was also purchased.
The third, and current, church was built in 1972. On May 14, 1972, the congregation moved from it's church on the hill (Slab City) to the new church in Bonduel. A worship service of "Thanksgiving and Praise" began in the old church and ended in the new church with the laying of the corner stone after the service.
In 2003, Friedens Congregation celebrated 125 years of God's abundant blessings. The Lord has truly blessed Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church with faithful pastors and congregations throughout the years. Since 2003, we have redecorated the church with a new paint scheme and pew upholstery.
Recent improvements to our church: Speaker system, new carpeting, new roof, repaved parking lot, new Rogers organ, new windows, air conditioning, electric piano, Carillon bell system elevator, new furnace, new lights in parking lot, and many other blessings which are too numerous to mention here.
In 2010, we are hoping to upgrade the sound system and integrate it with a new computer to aid in our radio broadcast recording and hope to eventually make this available on our website.
Also, as of 2010, Pastor Geiger has faithfully served Friedens for 37 years. This is truly a blessing of dedication to our congregation.
