Who we are
GWC was started by a group of individuals who wanted to influence people in our community toward Jesus. They had a passion to plant a “restoration movement” church: a church that would be culturally connected & biblically faithful. A church that would take Jesus seriously and strive to live out the values of the Kingdom of God. A church that would intentionally engage the neighborhood & community to be a living expression of the love of Jesus. A church that would help restore the broken people of our world (which means every one of us) by getting us connected ever more deeply with God.
Our Mission: To Know Him, To Love Him, To Share Him
Our Goals:
to be a community of love & acceptance
to be a community of truth
to be a family where people experience God
to be a family where people experience change

Garden Way Church History
Our Heritage
The heritage of GWC is rooted in “The Restoration Movement” which began in the early 1800’s in America.
At that time, American Christians were divided by a variety of denominations and organizational structures. Many ministers and church members had become dissatisfied with this disunity. In response, they began to take the Bible alone as the sole authority for believers and this launched a movement of independent Bible-based churches. These congregations historically were known simply as Christian Churches or Churches of Christ.
Restoration churches have inspired missionary movements and started new churches in the U.S. and around the world. Globally, there are more than 10,000 independent congregations that trace their roots to The Restoration Movement.
Though we greatly value our independence, we do – at times – voluntarily partner with other congregations on projects too large for a single church. Supporting missionaries, funding colleges that train young men and women for ministry, and starting new churches are just a few of the ministry areas where we often collaborate.
