Dr. Greg Kame first came to GBBC as the Director of Missions for our local association (Arundel Baptist Association) to help provide interim pastoral leadership. However, after about a year of his ministry, the church voted to call him as the 8th Senior Pastor of Glen Burnie Baptist Church, effective January 2021.

Dr. Kame holds a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from the University of South Africa and an MBA in Organizational Management from Eastern University St. Davis, PA. He also obtained his MA in Biblical Studies from WATS (University of Nigeria) and a B.Th. from the Cameroon Baptist Theological Seminary. During his Doctoral studies, Dr. Kame spent a term as a doctoral research fellow at the VU University Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where he engaged in extensive research on the Protestant Reformation, visiting several Reformation places in France, Germany, and particularly in Geneva, Switzerland where notable Reformed theologians lived and taught daily. Dr. Kame has also earned continuing education credits from Princeton Theological Seminary as a fellow of the Black Theology and Leadership Institute. As a theologian, Dr. Kame also serves on the adjunct faculty at Regent University School of Divinity.

He is married to Lena Kame (Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, University of Brussels). Lena is currently a Biology Lecturer at the University of Maryland, College Park. Greg and Lena emigrated from Cameroon to the United States about a decade ago. They live here in Glen Burnie with their three children: Karis, Jason, and Nathan.

We are located approximately 2 miles south of the Baltimore-Washington International Airport.

From Baltimore & points North

Take I-695 South to I-97 South to the Aviation Blvd exit (Exit # 15). Continue straight at the first red light and get into either the middle lane or the left lane. At the next red light, turn left onto Aviation Blvd. Continue straight through the next red light. The road will change from Aviation Blvd to Stewart Ave. After you cross a bridge, turn right onto Old Stage Road. Proceed a couple of blocks and the church will be on the right.

From Annapolis & points South

Take I-97 North to the Quarterfield Road exit (Exit # 13). Turn right onto Quarterfield Road and continue straight about one mile. After you go under the Route 100 overpass, you will turn left onto Thelma Ave. Follow Thelma Ave around and it will change into Old Stage Road. The church will be on the left.

Glen Burnie Baptist Church was established on May 5, 1946, with 57 members. After two interim and two short-term pastors, Dr. Cline L. Vice began his ministry on December 3, 1950 and served faithfully until his retirement on June 30, 1978. During his 27 1/2 year ministry, membership quadrupled and giving increased tremendously.

Rev. James E. Bishop served as Interim Pastor from July 1978 until February 1980 at which time he retired as a Major from the Army and became our full-time pastor. Rev. Bishop retired on August 31, 1991.

Dr. Carroll Camp began his ministry at Glen Burnie on June 31, 1992 and served faithfully until September 30, 2007. He has previously served as Senior Pastor and on the foreign mission field in Kenya.

Glen Burnie Baptist Church started as a small building completed in April 1949. it has grown into a larger brick building, dedicated September 1954, and an educational building, dedicated in 1970. In 1996, we completed further renovation and construction to accomodate our ever growing fellowship, nursery and pre-school departments.

We also have been involved in starting mission churches in the Glen Burnie, Odenton and Severn areas. We believe it is the mission of all Christians to spread the Word of God.
