Pastor Steve Meier was born on October 1, 1972 in Amarillo, Texas. He was raised in a Christian home, saved at an early age, and brought up under the heritage of Old Time Religion in the fear and admonition of the Lord. As a young man, he was taught to serve the Lord which he followed by winning souls to Christ, preaching on the street, working in the bus ministry and mostly valuing the personal relationship with the Lord. Under that atmosphere the Lord began leading and guiding which led to his being called to preach at sixteen years of age.

In 1990 he graduated from Canyon High School, in Canyon, TX and November 8, 1991 he married his High School Sweetheart, Melissa. They have now been married over 25 years and have four children, all of which have been avid participants in the ministries of Gospel Light Baptist Church.

Just shortly after he was married, Pastor Meier went to Pensacola Bible Institute in Pensacola, Florida, graduating in 1996 with a Bachelor of Divinity degree. Since then he has been trained in Administrator’s Training for the Accelerated Christian Education ministry and been extensively involved in the foundation of three separate schools.

After graduation from Bible college and having a burden for young people he began to seek the direction of the Lord. In the fall of 1996, a door of opportunity moved him to West Virginia where he became the youth pastor at Bible Baptist Church, and where later he was instrumental in starting a Christian boarding school for boys where several boys were saved. After serving 4 years, he moved back to his home state of Texas to become the Youth/Assistant pastor at Liberty Baptist Church in Amarillo. Not long after God opened another opportunity to work with troubled teens in North East Tennessee where he served as the administrator for another Boarding school under the ministry of Trinity Baptist Church where God began working in Pastor Steve’s heart and changing him for God’s glory for the work that was to come. After several years of working with youth God again began to change the direction and called Bro Steve to Pastor through Matthew 9:36.

Bro Steve answered the call to the pastorate in 2006 and moved to Enid, Oklahoma to pastor Gospel Light Baptist Church. God has been very good to Gospel Light Baptist Church. In just a few short years our church has grown from five people to now over 75, regularly attending every Sunday. Pastor Steve Meier is humbled to be used of the Lord to serve in the Lord’s vineyard of Enid, Oklahoma and prays that God will continue to grow the work and use him to be a blessing to God’s people and for God’s glory.

Kids for Christ

The 9 to 12 year olds make up our “Juniors” class. Line upon line, precept upon precept, these young people are taught and challenged to put to practice the things they have learned, and to realize the blessings of doing things God’s way, and the consequences of following the world.

Timothy Teens

Our Timothy class is a high-intensity, high-activity team composed of our 13- 18yr old teenagers.

We believe in putting action to our faith, and teenagers are able to participate in many ministries of GLBC like the bus ministry, outreach, and the church music program. In-depth teaching on Sunday morning covers all areas of Bible doctrine, with a strong emphasis on application.
