Leader Bio:
Our pastor, Edward Lassley, trusted Jesus as his personal Savior at the age of four while his family was attending Bible Baptist Church in Springfield, MO. His family moved to Mt. Carmel, Ohio in 1977, where they attended the Bible Baptist Church. This church produced in his heart the desire to serve the Lord with his life. At the age of 16, he surrendered his life to preach God's Word.
In 1982, after graduating from the Bible Baptist Christian School in Cincinnati, Pastor Ed attended Baptist Bible College. He graduated from BBC with a Graduate of Theology diploma, as well as, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical and Pastoral studies.
It was also during his time at BBC that he met an elementary education major named Karen Lynn Mann from Trenton, Michigan. They were married on June 29,1985 and now have three children. Christopher is married and lives in Paducah KY with his wife DeAnn where they are ministering at Broadway Baptist Church with the youth. Bryan and Ally are High School students.
Pastor Ed was ordained to the the Gospel ministry in April of 1994 by the Bible Baptist Church of Champaign, Illinois. Pastor Ed received a Masters of Ministry degree from Louisiana Baptist Theological Seminary in Shreveport, Louisiana.
After having served churches in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Illinois as an assistant pastor and youth pastor, Pastor Ed went to Ohio to pastor Crosspointe Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. From Ohio God led the Lassleys to Lansing, Michigan to Grace.
It is his desire and goal to invest his time at Grace Bible Church to build a body of believers who will serve and honor God in their service to Him!

Impact = Influencing My Peers As A Christian Teen. Class Verse: Matthew 5:16 "Let Your Light So Shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven."
The teen years mark a key transitional stage in life. Moving from childhood to adulthood is an upheaval! But God uses times of change to bring great growth. We are striving to come alongside parents helping young men and women know God intimately, read His Word accurately, share and defend their faith, serve others, and develop deep spiritual relationships.

Grace Bible Church History
History of Grace
The history of Grace Bible Church began in 1928 when a group of people began a Sunday School meeting at the North School. This led to the small group organizing the Miller Road Community Church.
From 1934 to 1936 the new church had four part time pastors to lead it. Peter Dekker, O.M. Albig, Mark McKee and Harold Dakin were the men God used to provide leadership to the growing congregation.
In 1936, Rev. Earle Prince was called to lead the church in a full time capacity. He pastored until 1938. Pastor Alfred Carnell was then called to lead and serve as Shepherd until 1941. It was during Pastor Carnell's pastorate that a parsonage was built and the church became a branch of the Intercity Gospel Tabernacle. The church met at the community hall at this time.
In 1941 E.A. Roloff was chosen to lead the church. In 1942 under Rev. Roloff's ministry, Miller Road Community Church became Miller Road Bible Church in order to signal an emphasis on God's Word as their authority. In 1946, an educational wing was built as the church began experiencing tremendous growth.
It was then in 1949 that the Rev. James Dotson was called to pastor the Miller Road Bible Church. Pastor Dotson pastored the church for 39 years.
During Pastor Dotson's fifth year of ministry, another Sunday School area was added. Then a new parsonage was established on Rosedale in 1958.
Then in 1958 ground was broken for a new auditorium and main building. The auditorium was completed and dedicated in 1961.
After many years, the leadership of the church was headed by Rev. William Barber. He was installed in 1989 and led the church through many transitions. In 1997 the Miller Road property was sold for nearly 1.2 million dollars. and new ground was purchased on Canal Road in Delta Township.
In 1998, ground was broken for a new facility. Naturally moving from Miller Road inspired a name change and in March of 1998 the church's name was changed to Grace Bible Church.
Services were held at the new facility in 1999 as the church was dedicated for the glory of God! A new Fellowship Hall was added in 2004.
In 2008, Pastor Barber left Grace Bible Church to become the professor of Practical Theology at the Shepherd Theological Seminary in Cary, North Carolina.
In 2009, Rev. Robert Talley became pastor having served in church planting and missions ministry. Pastor Talley served until 2012. He became a professor at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
In 2013, Rev. Edward Lassley was called to lead Grace Bible Church. Pastor Lassley served in churches as Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor and Senior Pastor in Missouri, Oklahoma, Illinois, Ohio and Michigan.
The history of Grace Bible church is still being written. The motto of our church is "By Grace alone, through Faith alone, in Christ alone." And it is our hope that through Scripture alone, God alone will receive glory.
