Who we are
WELCOME to the Gulph Mills United Church of Christ!
We are a PEOPLE of the United Church of Christ who
· believe that God is still speaking
· understand church as being a people who are welcoming in hospitality and affirming in acceptance
· come together in worship, prayer, study and enjoyable community
· care for one another in mutual support and uplifting prayer
· reach out to all people sharing the love of God freely and without condition
· are in covenant together to live as a people of peace and justice
· share a conviction that relationships are as important as theology
· acknowledge that we do not have all the answers
· share in the process of learning to ask better questions
· are together in learning that how we live our life says more about what we believe than any statement of faith
· strive to be genuinely real and relevant as to what it means to be church
· are more concerned with spirituality as a shared journey than religion as an institution
We WORSHIP each Sunday morning at 10:30
· the Sacrament of Holy Communion is shared the first Sunday of each month
· we celebrate an Open Table where everyone is welcome to share the bread and cup
· the Sacrament of Baptism is available to persons of all ages upon request
· our Organist and Choir provides musical leadership and an anthem each week
· children are welcome in worship and a Children's Message is shared
We share a SUNDAY SCHOOL class each week at 9:15 A.M.
We gather for an informal time of PRAYER on Friday mornings at 11:00
· a meal follows for anyone who wishes to share at table
· an Arts and Crafts group meets on Friday afternoons, following the lunch
We are always looking forward to WELCOMING our guests in worship and at all of our activities.
