Heartland Fellowship Yarra Glen History
Heartland Church is a Baptist fellowship in Yarra Glen established in 2006. It was established to help serve the needs of young families of Yarra Glen with a relevant expression of church. Heartland is now widely engaged with the community, continuing to serve the town with Playgroup, and until recently [Glen] youth group and school support. We are also engaged with ongoing onground statewide bushfire recovery, our local Men’s Shed, local interchurch Op Shop, local welfare agency HICCI, and various youth and community initiatives in partnership with local council. Our partnership extends to the Ilomavis Church of Christ in the southern Philippines, working with the Obo Manobo people in the highlands of Mindanao. We are supporting them in establishing income generating projects to help lift them out of poverty, and raising Christian leaders in their community.
Heartland is home grown, with people from as far a Glenburn, Croydon and Healesville joining Yarra Glen locals who actively participate in Heartland church life. We are everyday people who understand that life has its challenges. We love and follow Jesus and seek to love God with our heart, soul, mind and strength, and love our neighbour as we love ourselves.
