Hickory Square United Methodist Church welcomes Christians and those who seek to connect to Christianity in the Connellsville area.

Hickory Square United Methodist Church History
In the year 1849 the first official organization meeting was held on October 24th, in the Cochran school house.
The Church being part of the Connellsville circuit. Present were the Rev. J. 1. Stillions, Secretary J. Stillwagon, and Chairman A. Calentine.
The ground was given by Mr. and Mrs. Henry Strickler on Christmas Day in the year 1855.
On March 10, 1856 the structure was built and named the Hickory Square Protestant Church. In 1958 an addition was built for Sunday School.
The Church has had 60 ministers since its organization, some of them serving more than once.
The present day membership is about 70. The Rev. Earl W. Lighthall is now minister.
