Who we are
Hills Church is a family where people experience the life-changing power and freedom that comes through Christ Jesus, and are equipped to bring the kingdom of God to the world. Hills is set up on a ministry-led model. The elders (including the senior pastor) provide strategic and spiritual leadership; we have an executive team that take care of financial, property and operational issues, and a staff team that oversee ministry leadership.

1 John 4:7
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

Children and Youth Activities
Under 12s:
HBT (Hillsborough Baptist Tots)
HBT is for under 3s and is a lovely unstructured time, with a craft activity for the 2-3 years olds, music, stories, morning tea and plenty of play.
HBJ (Hillsborough Baptist Juniors)
HBJ is for 3-school aged children and runs in a more structured way, with a weekly lesson and craft, music, stories, games and free activity. The current average number is 10.
HBK (Hillsborough Baptist Kids)
HBK is a fully interactive program. We have lots of fun teaching, games and enjoy music as a group together and then we break into small (aged) groups to help them see how all the learning applies to their lives.
Ignite
Our Ignite programme is run by a radically committed bunch of uni students who want to help our intermediate aged kids learn how to walk with God. They have great worship, messages, games plus heaps of other things to encourage them to investigate who God is in their life.

Under 18s:
Frontline Youth (FLY)
If you are in Year 7 or 8 then come along to Ignite. We meet together every week during the 10am Sunday Service. We do a whole lot of cool stuff such as social events, camps, games and bible study on Sunday morning.
Awhi
The heart of our youth program is our weekly youth Bible study which is called Awhi (pronounced a-fee). The word Awhi means “to embrace” which is pretty apt because our Tuesday night Awhi program is run in a way that deeply connects with our young people exactly where they are at: whether they are from a Christian background or exploring faith for the first time. Awhi is at the church at 179 Hillsborough Rd on Tuesday nights, during school term, from 7:30-9:30pm. Typically the night starts with a time together sharing a testimony, playing a large group game together or chatting around a hot chocolate. We then break up into age appropriate small groups (years 9-11 boys), (years 9-11 girls) and (years 12 and 13 youth).
We also have a university aged Awhi group which meets at a local home on a Thursday evening at 7:30pm.
