Hillsburgh Baptist Church was founded in 1853 by a small group of people who wanted to seek all that God had for them. The early believers recognized the importance of working with others to be able to do things for God that one church could not do on their own. So they joined with other Baptist churches
to be a part of the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec
(formerly the Baptist Convention of Ontario and Quebec).

Fast forward to 2013, - the year of our 160th Anniversary. Our congregation continues to enjoy the unique blessings in being small in numbers and big in dedication. Sundays bring traditional morning worship service together with contemporary. A choir, grand piano and organ combine with projected images and music to transcend both the old and new and create a multi-generational worship experience. More than fifteen years ago a new sanctuary, double its original size, was added along with a fellowship hall underneath.
An elevator allows for easy access to all floors. While we, as a congregation, hope to continue growing in faith and numbers, we never want to lose our identity in Christ and
as family together and within our larger community.
