Who we are
Our mission statement
‘To know, live and share Christ.’
Worship style
We have traditional services with liturgy, spoken word service, songs from the All Together series, or a combination of these, and we are open to other styles and trying different things. We enjoy participating in outdoor services and gospel concerts.
What makes us unique
Through our offerings, we regularly support Christian pastoral support workers at Truro Primary School, Nuriootpa High School, Lutheran Community Care and Australian Lutheran World Service.
We participate in inter-congregational exchanges with other similar-sized congregations. We have the Bible Society visit each year, and we participate in the Longest Lutheran Lunch.
We have a ladies guild that meets monthly. We enjoy decorating our church and our large cross in the car park to match the theme of a service, such as Australia Day, Palm Sunday, Harvest Thanksgiving, and Seasons of Creation.

Immanuel Lutheran Church Truro History
Truro is a small country town on the Sturt Highway with a district population of approximately 400 people. It is located approximately 90 kilometres from Adelaide and is 15 kilometres east of Nuriootpa in the Barossa Valley. The first Lutheran service was conducted by Pastor R B Reuther on 29 January 1937 in the Truro Institute.
The name Immanuel was accepted for the church on 4 June 1939. Early services were held in both German and English languages each fortnight, and Sunday school was held when there was no service. The dedication of the church building took place on 25 September 1955. Next to the church, we have a hall/meeting room with a small kitchen.
