Leader Bio:
My name is Sue Smith and I am on the Leadership Team at Jubilee Ministries.
I was born in Penwortham and have lived here all my life. I went to Middleforth School (when it was at the bottom of Marshalls Brow!), then Penwortham Girls’ Grammar School and after college in London, I taught in local Primary Schools until my retirement in 2008. My husband Alan and I joined Jubilee in 1995 when it was then called Fresh Manna. It is my privilege to be one of the leaders of Jubilee, especially in these exciting times as our church moves to Penwortham.
I have always had an awareness of God in my life and over the years my journey of faith has grown and evolved. I can say with confidence and complete certainty that Christ died for me, and as a Christian I know He lives in me and works through me to share His love and grace with others.

Jubilee Ministries History
Jubilee Ministries is a comparatively small Christian fellowship and is a member of the Evangelical Alliance, an umbrella grouping for evangelical Christians in the UK. A team of leaders heads up Jubilee Ministries. The church was established in 1993 as Fresh Manna Christian Fellowship, and adopted our current name in 2011.
For most of that time our meetings took place in the campus of the University of Central Lancashire and we have seen many students worshipping with us over the years. However the student numbers have now declined and recently we have felt God calling us to move into a community setting, where we can share the Christian message with the people and families living nearby.
We have been warmly welcomed at Whitefield Primary School, Penwortham and on 8th May 2016 we held our first service there. We are now right in the middle of a vibrant community with lots of people of all ages and we are looking forward to sharing the gospel of grace with them.
Many people who have been to our fellowship liken it to being in a family, so if you are interested then you know what to do…give us a visit.
As a church we believe that we are saved by grace and that we live by grace…what does that mean?
We have all been born into a fallen world and we live our own way and do our own thing. Ultimately that leads to spiritual death. But God in his great love sent his Son to die in our place in order that we might have life. As believers our spirit is ‘born again’ as it says in the Bible and all our sins are forgiven, past, present and future!
The death of Jesus on the cross is a done deal, and we get to rest in that sacrifice. We don’t have to toil or strive or work to get right with God or get close to God…he died for us and his love is immeasurable, we can’t improve on that! Whatever we do in our Christian life, we do because we are motivated by his love, not because we have to gain his approval or make ourselves worthy of his love. We already are loved, forgiven, accepted and complete because Christ died for us!
