Mission
King's Gate Church exists to demonstrate God's love, power, and desire to touch all peoples lives in healing and relationship with Jesus Christ. Helping people to find destiny, joy and satisfaction of spiritual relationship through salvation while equipping the church to impact the twenty-first century with the power of Jesus Christ.

Vision
We want to continually lay a wise foundation today that can be built upon by generations to follow, resulting in a church that will achieve all that Jesus said it would, establishing the kingdom of heaven here on earth in the hearts of those who love and follow Him. Our vision goes beyond our life time and even beyond the lives of our great, great grandchildren.

Pastors Matthew and Gillian are the lead pastors of King's Gate Church. They have been the lead pastors since October 30, 2016 when the founding pastors, Robert and Angela Butler, released it to them. Matthew is the son of the founding pastors and has been part of the church since it's inception when he was only a young child. He has a strong walk with Jesus that began when he was only 4 years old. Gillian came to know Jesus as her Lord and Saviour at 13 years of age and has had a strong walk with Him ever since.

The Butlers are passionate about seeing the Church come into her destiny. They believe in equiping and releasing the people of God into the work of the ministry. Their heart is to see King's Gate Church bring the transformational power of heaven to earth and by doing so, see Cochrane and all of Alberta transformed. They believe that every saint is a minister of God and through their relationship with Jesus Christ is able to function with authority as Jesus and the Apostles did. Their dynamic teaching and preaching will encourage and empower any believer who hears and believes.

King's Gate Church was planted in Cochrane in the fall of 1980 by our founding pastors Robert and Angela Butler. The Butlers immigrated to Canada from England in 1979. Shortly after arriving in Cochrane they felt called to start a Spirit-filled work in the community. New Life Christian Fellowship started meeting in their home with five people in attendance. We soon began to grow and moved into Manachaban school for Sunday service. Within a few years we purchased our first building, a warehouse on River Ave, which we converted into our church. We outgrew that facility, and in April of 1994 the membership started the construction of our present building.

Through the faithfullness of the Lord and the efforts of our members the building was ready to move into at the beginning of December 1994. On January 15, 1995 we experienced a powerful outpouring of the Spirit in our Sunday evening service as God began to release His river of revival upon us. SInce that time we have experienced many changed lives and some amazing miracles as the waves of refreshing wash over us in the presence of the Lord. The river of the Spirit continues to get deeper, and our experience with God becomes richer by the day. He continues to amaze us in our worship services as He touches lives in the power of the Spirit. Our vision is to see the Kingdom of God released in our church, community, region, and province. We wait with hunger and anticipation for the next revival to burst forth in our land, a revival the will transform us and our nation.
