Who we are
We are an outgrowth of New Life Community Church in Rathdrum, Idaho. Pastor Bruce Miles, the founding pastor of New Life Community Church had a vision of planting a church in a new and different way – a harvesting machine that would serve the growing Coeur d’Alene area.
Instead of the common model of church plant in which two or three people start a church meeting in a home or a school, and later erect a building, Pastor Bruce directed the building of a beautiful facility across the street from Lake City High School, and then asked a group of people in his congregation to go and occupy the property. Unfortunately, Pastor Bruce never saw his vision come to completion. He died of cancer in November of 1999.
The New Life-Lake City Site first opened its doors to about 550 regular attendees in March of 2000. 350 of those came from the mother church, New Life, and another 200 came from the community surrounding the new facility. By June of 2001, the decision was made to allow the New Life-Lake City Site to become a sovereign entity. New Life-Lake City Site officially became Lake City Community Church in June of 2002, fulfilling Pastor Bruce’s original vision of a stand-alone church plant. New Life’s Associate Pastor, Mike Rima, took on the role of Lead Pastor for the new church — a role he continues today.
The congregation and staff of Lake City Church have always believed that God has blessed us incredibly through New Life Community Church’s generosity. Pastor Mike is always quick to say that Lake City Church has reaped where it did not sow.
Today, Lake City Church is a vibrant and healthy church with two campuses (Lake City Coeur d’Alene and Lake City Rathdrum) and over 2,000 regular attendees.

Quote of the Day
Luke 12:24
Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
