Who we are
What We Believe
WHAT WE VALUE
THE GOSPEL // God’s life transforming Good News of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection undergirds everything we do at Lakeview.
THE BIBLE // God’s Word is the essential ingredient to life transformation!
RELATIONSHIPS // What we need most is not a smorgasbord of programs but real relationships - to be growing in friendship with both God and others.
MISSION // God is doing something in the world, and He invites us to join Him and be a part of it!
STATEMENT OF FAITH
THE BIBLE
We believe that the Bible, composed of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments is uniquely God-inspired, without error in the original writings, and completely trustworthy. We rely on the whole Bible to shape our understanding of God and his dealings with his creation. The Scriptures are thus the unique, full, and final authority on all matters of faith and practice.
GOD
We believe that there is one true God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – each possessing fully all the attributes of deity.
THE PERSON AND WORK OF JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who became a man without ceasing to be God, lived a perfect life and willingly gave his life on the cross for our sins. As our substitute, he satisfied the divine demand for justice, accomplishing salvation for all who trust in His completed work of redemption. He rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will return to earth again, personally and visibly, to consummate history and the eternal plan of God.
SALVATION
We believe every person is a unique and priceless creation of God, each designed to live in fellowship with Him. Man’s choice to sin- to defy God’s intentions and live independently from Him, has resulted in alienation from God and the corruption of his nature, rendering him unable to please God through human effort.
Salvation then is wholly a work of God’s free grace and is not the result, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness, and must be personally appropriated by repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation reconciles the relationship between God and man, forgiving his sin, uniting him with Christ, and adopting him into the family of God as a loved and accepted child. Those who receive salvation are kept by God’s power and are secure in Christ forever.
THE PERSON AND THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity who actively works in individual lives- illuminating the need for salvation for the forgiveness of sin, imparting eternal life to those who profess faith in Christ, and permanently indwelling every believer at the point of salvation to be the continual source of strength, guidance, assurance, and wisdom. He entrusts every believer with gifts for the building up of His church, and provides the means for the believer to lead a life of Christ-like character that bears fruit to the glory of the Father.
THE CHURCH
We believe that the church is the spiritual body of Christ, comprised of all who have been born-again. The Scripture commands believers to gather together to devote themselves to worship, prayer, the teaching of the Word, and the observance of baptism and communion. Wherever God’s people meet regularly in obedience to this command, there is the local expression of the church. Under the watch care of elders and other supportive leadership, its members are to work together in love and unity, intent on the one ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ by spreading the Gospel and making disciples of all nations.

Isaiah 64:8
But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

Lakeview Community Church History
Our Story
A Love For this Great Community
Lakeview Community Church was birthed out of a simple passion to see ordinary people transformed by the extraordinary love of God. Pastor Brian and Diane are both Putnam County natives.
OUR MISSION: Ordinary people transformed by the extraordinary love of God.
After 10 years in student ministry in more traditional church settings, we felt this tug to do something new. We began to pray and dream and plan outa new church – a place that would be both rooted in the Gospel and relevant to life today…a place where our unchurched friends and neighbors could engage.
A Place for Faith to Be Explored
We started with a blank sheet of paper and began to architect what that kind of community might look like. We talked about creating authentic environments where life change could take shape…we talked about majoring on people instead of programs…we talked about providing a safe space for people to explore faith at their own pace…and we spoke about solid biblical teaching with lots of practical application.
Our 2004 Launch to the Community
In 2002, we started to meet with a few like-minded friends in their living room. With the support of the Christian & Missionary Alliance; several area churches, Lakeview began & has gone through several seasons of growth & development- first meeting in homes, other churches, and a VFW Hall. In January of 2004 the church officially opened, meeting weekly in Casey Hall at Carmel High School.
The Story is Only Beginning
Today, people from all kinds of backgrounds meet weekly for worship and call Lakeview "home". God has done something amazing here at Lakeview, and we trust that it’s only just begun. We look forward to what the next chapter looks like!
