Who we are
Our Beliefs
We believe the Bible to be given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, infallible, and God’s revealed word to man.
(2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)
We believe that Scripture teaches that there is only one true and living God, who has chosen to reveal Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10, 11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22)
We believe that man is a sinful being in need of redemption.
(Genesis 1:26-31; 3:1-7; Psalm 51:5; Ecclesiastes 7:29; John 6:44; Romans 5:12-21; I Corinthians 2:14)
We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God and the son of man, that He came to save men from condemnation of sin by offering His blood as atonement and making it available to all who exercise faith in Him.
(Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31, 35; John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21)
We believe that for salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
(Luke 7:50, 24:47; Romans 10:13-15; 1 Corinthians 1:18; 2 Corinthians 2:15; Ephesians 2:8,9; 2 Timothy 1:9; Titus 2:11, 3:5-7)
We believe the Scriptures ascribe to the Holy Spirit the acts and attributes of an intelligent being, and that the works of God such as creation, inspiration, giving of life and sanctification are also ascribed to the Holy Spirit.
(Genesis 1:2; Job 33:4; Mark 3:29; John 16:8,13; Acts 7:51, 10:19, 13:2, 13:4, 16:6; 1 Corinthians 2:11,12; Ephesians 4:30; I Peter 3:18; 2 Peter 1:21)
We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.
(Romans 8:5; Philippians 2:12,13; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; 1 John 2:29)
We believe that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is given to believers who ask for it.
(Joel 2:28; Acts 2:4)
We believe that if we abide in Christ, it is possible to have the “signs following,” mentioned in Mark 16:17-18 and the gifts of the Spirit listed in I Corinthians 12:8-10
We believe that all mankind has eternal life. Where they spend that life is dependent upon their acceptance or rejection of the Savior, Jesus Christ. The body is subject to the death as a result of original sin. The soul and spirit do not die but immediately after death enter into a conscious state of happiness in heaven or misery in hell, as a result of that decision.
(Ecclesiastes 12:7; Romans 5:12; Philippians 1:23)
We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved to everlasting life and the lost without Christ to everlasting damnation.
(Matthew 24:31-46; Acts 24:15; Revelation 22:11)
We believe in the personal, imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
(Acts 1:11; I Thessalonians 4:13-18)
We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer.
(Isaiah 53:5; James 5:14-15; I Peter 2:24)
We believe that marriage, as ordained by God, is defined as being between one man and one woman. No other will be performed or condoned.
(Jeremiah 29:6; Corinthians 7:2; Genesis 21:21; Genesis 29:21; I Corinthians 7:36, 39; Genesis2:34-24; Ephesians 5:22-23, 25, 28-29, 31, 33)

Quote of the Day
Hebrews 10:25
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Leader Bio:
Dr. Mark Trice has been an ordained minister since the age of 18 and has been ministering in various churches, conferences, and worldwide mission settings, as well as Maranatha, his own home church, for decades. Pastor Mark has been part of the ministry staff of Maranatha Church since 1981, serving in children’s ministries, as the Youth Pastor and as an Associate Pastor. This God-centered life has well prepared him for the office of Senior Pastor of Maranatha Church, the role he stepped into on Sunday, December 28, 2008. On any Sunday you are likely to experience one of his unique, illustrated messages accompanied by stories that will spark laughter even as they challenge you to a closer walk with God. Dr. Trice’s transparency and willingness to share from his own life experiences makes him a truly empathetic minister of the Gospel, one who can reach into your heart and touch you where you live. Pastor Mark has a passion to encourage pastors and the body of Christ, stirring vision for their future by addressing real life issues and focusing on the promises God has given in His Word. Married to Dena for over 35 years, they have 3 children and 2 grandchildren, and have dedicated their life to serving God and His people.
Dena Trice serves alongside her husband, Mark, who is the Senior Pastor of Maranatha Church, as well as Hill Country Cowboy Church in Wimberley, Texas. Having served as a Youth Pastor, Kid’s Church Pastor and Music Minister, Dena has been in full time ministry since 1981. She has fervor for people and is devoted to presenting the Word of God in a practical manner that will charge woman to make a difference in their world. Dena is a wife, mother, grandmother, friend, pastor, role model and mentor. When she isn’t on the road, Dena enjoys family time, being with her friends, sports, going to the movies and playing games. She’s slightly obsessed with high-heels and should buy stock in Sonic since Sonic Coke is a necessity.
