Who we are
God has richly blessed me with the privilege of returning to the Church of my first pastorate. In 1969, after I had announced my call to the gospel ministry, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church called me as their Pastor. I enjoyed five and one-half wonderful years with them, leaving the latter part of 1974. After approximately twenty-five years of Pastoring in Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina, Pleasant Hill called me to come back. I have been back approximately twelve years, and in none of my years of pastoring have I enjoyed a more delightful ministry, nor have I felt loved and appreciated more.
If you live in this area, and do not have a church home, or, if you are not attending church regularly anywhere, I invite you to visit, and seriously consider Pleasant Hill Baptist. We are a friendly, loving and caring church; members of the Southern Baptist Convention, and the Copper Basin Baptist Association. We are blessed with great music and sound Bible teaching. Come see for yourself. I am sure you will be glad you did.

Pleasant Hill Baptist Church History
This article appeared in The Heritage of Polk County 1839-1997 Book
Submitted by: Helen Weaver Casada
Pleasant Hill Baptist is the oldest church in East Polk County, Tennessee. The village of Pleasant Hill was settled in the early 1840s. The earliest settlers came into East Polk County from North Carolina, and North Georgia before copper was discovered, and settled near the state line. The first road followed the old Indian Trail from North Georgia.
Long before there was a church our ancestors were worshipping in brush arbors. Finally the Baptist erected a church building near the state lines of Tennessee, Georgia and North Carolina. This ancient church is three miles from the basin's largest town, Copperhill. However, there was no Copperhill or even a McCaysville at the time it was built.
The cemetery at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church has some of the oldest graves in the area. It is still in use in 1997.
