The Church of God of Prophecy in Port Lavaca was established in 1958.
The Church of God of Prophecy is a vibrant, worldwide body of believers, united in worship, working hand-in-hand to share God’s love and a message of hope to the brokenhearted. The Church of God of Prophecy has over one-and-a-half million members, worshiping in over 10,000 churches our missions in 125 nations of the world. Nearly 90% of our global membership is outside of North America.
In contemporary theological terms, the Church of God of Prophecy is a Protestant, Evangelical, Wesleyan holiness, Pentecostal movement that believes in man’s freewill regarding salvation.

Bishop Willie Espinoza, in 1978 at the age of 27, accepted Jesus as his Savior, was saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Spirit. He attended the Bible Training Institute in Del Montes, California in 1983. In between this time he did missionary work in Brownsville, Texas, Matamoros, Mexico & Tullison, Arizona.
He accepted the call to preach and in 1984 pastored the Church of God of Prophecy in Kingsville, Texas. In 1999 he was appointed to Port Lavaca, Texas Church of God of Prophecy as pastor until this present time. He was ordained as Bishop in August of 2010. Bishop Espinoza presently pastors the church in Port Lavaca, Texas. Bishop Espinoza loves the Lord, loves people and has a deep desire to be obedient to the will of God.
He accepted the call to preach and in 1984 pastored the Church of God of Prophecy in Kingsville, Texas. In 1999 he was appointed to Port Lavaca, Texas Church of God of Prophecy as pastor until this present time. He was ordained as Bishop in August of 2010.
