St. Andrew's United Church History

The history of St. Andrew’s United Church dates back to 1906 when the Presbyterian Church first held services in the area. In 1909 St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church was built in Outlook. Church Union occurred in 1925. During the late 1940’s, Glenside, Broderick and John Hus became part of the Outlook Pastoral Charge. These same churches became a part of St. Andrew’s Pastoral Charge by the mid 1980’s. The new church was dedicated in 1962 and the mortgage was burned in 1979.

In 1996 we realized that accessibility was a concern and initiated fund raising for a lift. In 1998 our dream was realized and on June 14 we dedicated the lift that provides access to all three levels of our church.

In 2006, due to declining numbers and increasing expenses, Wheatlands Pastoral Charge, made up of congregations in Conquest, Macrorie, and Ardath, decided to disband and several Membreship Transfers were received at St. Andrew's.
