Who we are
St Andrew’s Lhanbryd & Urquhart Parish Church is part of the Church of Scotland and is within the Presbytery of Moray.
Worship is at the very heart of our church life. We are a group of people of all ages and we rejoice together in the diversity of experience that we represent. As well as the family ethos, our services also enable us to come before God with reverence and a sense of awe as we worship Him together. At the very heart of our services is the teaching and preaching of the Word of God.
Worship is enlightening, thought-provoking and participatory; our pattern of worship is flexible and continually evolving. Members of the congregation expect to be involved and challenged in our services.
Children and young people are an important part of our congregation. We recognise the importance both of their being a part of the regular Sunday worship but also of receiving an input appropriate for them. Fuller details of their activities are included in the section Young People.
Our services are at 11 am every Sunday. In addition we have an evening service which is held at 7 pm on the last Sunday evening of the month in St Margaret’s Hall, Urquhart. (see where to find us section.
During school terms we run CONNECT, a cafe style session on the first and third Sunday mornings of the month between 9.30 – 10.30am.
And, because friendship is such an important part of being a church, many of us stay behind after the service to meet with each other over a cup of tea or coffee.
Above all we meet together with an expectation that we will encounter God and that we will hear Hs voice and know His presence. If you would like to join us on a Sunday you will be made very welcome!
Additional services take place at particular times of year, mainly Easter and Christmas.
The Church Prayer Meeting is on the 1st Sunday of the month at 7pm in the Manse.
