Who we are
The House of Prayer offers a broad variety of Retreats catering to many kinds of needs. We welcome a wide range of visitors from full-time Christian ministries to those alienated from the church - anyone in fact seeking with an open heart, to deepen their spirituality, to find a life lived with meaning, or nurture their relationship with God.
For simplicity we will refer to all our guests as Retreatants whether you come here for spiritual refreshment or a time of rest – whatever your reason, you will be ‘retreating’ in some way from the ordinariness and busy-ness of your daily life.
Quiet - Mornings, Afternoons, Evenings, Days
Themed days and Themed Weekends
Weekend Retreats
Individually Guided Retreats
'Times of Rest' and 'Private Retreats'
Spiritual Direction Guidance for residential and non-residential people
Space for Diocesan, Parish and Religious Congregational Meetings
All are offered in an atmosphere of quiet and silence, honouring and respecting the presence of those needing and wishing to have space for prayer, reflection and to 'BE' before the Lord.
We also cater for special dietary needs eg. Gluten free, vegetarian and dairy free meals
For those people wishing to come for a Retreat etc. with special physical and medical needs reliant on support, we recommend that they are accompanied by a carer/companion
Please request a Booking Form for any of the above which will include the suggested offerings.
